low oil pressure

I have a 1993 z28 a4 with 91,xxx miles. At an idle to about 5 mph I have absolutly no oil pressure and the check gauges light comes on, going down the freeway at about 75 the pressure gauge reads at 30-35. I just changed the oil, its full, oil is in good condition. is it time for a new oil pump? do these usualy go bad around this time?cost? any information would be appreciated thanks.

Its a possibility that your oil pressure sending unit has gone bad..... It's located in back of the manifold on the drivers side right behind your EGR valve....

thanks, anymore help would be appritiated. I was thinking of maybe just taking it to the local chevy dealear tommorow unless you guys could help me out, but im kinda tight for cash at the monment and know that this wouldnt be the cheapest way. I was hoping it was a its definetly this problem type of deal, like with the whole cold runs great hot stumbles and runnes horrid problem which is always opti.

I still have the same ? is there something that tends to go out around this milage that could cause this. I dont know anything about our oil pump's are they very reliable and its probable just the sensor or what. It's running fine though I havent beat on it at all because I dont want to increase the risk of damaging something because its not getting oil.

On my 93Z28 the sending unit is located down at the oil filter,, easy to change

When I was rebuilding my car, I had to get an oil pressure sensor ( I guess this is the same thing as a sending unit ... at the back of the intake, hooks up to the wiring harness ) and it cost me around 50$ so its a cheap fix if thats your problem.

Do you have problems with pressure when your going up or downhill ? If so, Maybe the pick up came off of your oil pump ...
