Low oil light, but oil pressure is ok?
Yesterday I was over at a friend's house grinding down my tranny crossmember to give my Purple Hornies a little more ground clearance. The car drove home fine, no complaints.
Then this afternoon I decided to take a quick run out to Old Country Buffet with some buddies. I start the car up, and within a minute the low oil light comes on. Oil pressure was fine (above the halfway mark like it usually is when you've just started the car). But not wanting to tempt fate I decided to just park it and take a look at it later.
I'm guessing that the wire going to the oil level sensor got burned since I was under the car working and grinding near the headers. A quick glance under the hood and everything seemed ok (no oil leaking from front of intake, opti was dry, etc).
I've got finals this week so I won't have a chance to look at the car until Saturday. If it is a leak, where should I look for it?

my low oil light came on once and sure enough i was low even though pressure was okay.. this was when i first got my license and drove my car hard just about everywhere and didn't check the oil everytime i got gas. i hear these sensors go bad though and come on too.. i agree.. check the dipstick.
