Low oil

I recently just changed the oil on my 95 camaro z28 but the low oil light came on checked the oil to make sure it was not low and its fine was wondering if any one might know what be causing it anyone know what can be causing that

There is a oil level sensor on the side of the oil pan could be unplugged or bad. The wires take a lot of abuse since your oil filter is located above them they could be damaged.

Gentlemen, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the light will not illuminate if the sensor is unplugged. The only condition that sets the light is low oil which allows a circuit to be completed. If the light goes on and the level is fine then the only thing that can be is that the sensor is bad.....

It depends on if the switch is a normally open or normally closed switch. I don't know which it is.

LOL..Obviously. It's a very simple device. A small diameter ring floats in the oil, not touching the contacts it surrounds. When the oil level drops the ring makes contact and illuminates the light...

Which is called a normally open switch.

Yes, that's correct. And a normally open circuit won't complete when you unplug it. Light on, bad sensor....or low oil.
