Low Mount alt. pulley Problem

I have a low mount alt. bracket. I just replaced the alt. because the shaft in the alt became lose, "If you pull on the pulley it will move in and out"

1st thing : The new alt. goes passed the bracket, so i have to have the bottom bolt on the outside of the bracket, So i will need to buy or make a new bracket.

2nd thing: The new alt looks like it is starting to do the same thing as the old one. If you give the car gas, you will see the pulley move in and out.

Has anybody had the same problem, and what did you do to fix it.

One other thing i have a fluid damper on, I am thinking either the damper and the pulley is not even, and i might have to get bigger spacers for the mount.

Any help would be helpful thanks

what bracket do you have? pics of your particulay set up would help. The aftermarket brackets have a tendency to flex. Ask me how I know... I have an SJM bracket and under acceleration the bracket would flex and the alternator would move forward. I threw a belt this way and ruined another. I reused the bracket with my new motor but this time I shimmed the bracket and alternator to make the pulley line up perfectly with the balancer and I had to fabricate a steel support bracket to go from the back of the alternator to the K member (I have solid mounts) to prevent the bracket from flexing. Sounds to me like you have a very similar problem and you can fix it by fabbing up a bracket from the rear of the alt to the engine somewhere...
