ya i have the same problem but it comes and goes with or without the a/c on. i had a gm tech take a look and he says its a common problem with the low coolant sensor on 93-97 gm vehicles. you can see if when looking at the radiiator from the top a little square box on the left side about 3 inchs down.

Are you sure about that? Go for a week without a/c and tell us what happens.

If it's anything like our Subaru the engine coolant temp sensor was not reading the correct resistance for the PCM. I also would turn on the AC and I would throw a coolant temp circuit code 0015. I checked the fans, relays all were good. I changed out the sensor and no problems since.

I did like shoebox suggested. I cleared the code the first time (Autozone will read and clear the codes for free) then drove around for about 4 days or so then hit the AC again and 5 minutes later she threw a code. If that is your problem there's a coolant temp sensor near the bottom of the waterpump housing, that is the one the PCM uses for engine management.

There are 3 coolant sensors on the LT1. The waterpump for engine management. The radiator for coolant level and the head for the temp gauge. I do not know if they are all connected on the same circuit.

Next time try unplugging the RAP module and see what happens. Check the ground on the post under the LH kick panel also.
