This is a common fault on our cars. If the level is fine, the sensor is the problem. You can remove the sensor and clean it or you can just replace it. Or, if you don't mind checking your own fluid level, you can just unplug it and leave it unplugged....it won't hurt anything (unless you let the water level drop)

Re: Low coolant light ?

You're welcome. I just got mine a few days ago and it has the same problem. Been waiting for a warm day to try to take off and clean the sensor. Hopefully I can get to it this weekend.

Re: Low coolant light ?

Just so you know...cleaning rarely, if ever, solves the problem...

Re: Low coolant light ?

Where are you checking the coolant level? Hopefully not in the reservoir.

I've seen one of the sensors disected by an electrical engineer and it showed that the coolant had leaked into the electronics, destroying the circuit board. Not repairable if that's the case.

Re: Low coolant light ?

I replaced mine and it started coming back on a few months later, I just unplugged it and no more problem. Just make sure to check the level once in a while
