Low coolant light

Ok so i just changed the sensor because it came on and there was plenty of fluid in it. Now it is back on but only turns on sometimes when im at a red light or stopped. The car starts to heat up but if i turn it off and on the light goes off at first i thought a sticking thermostat but that is brand new then i thought maybe it could be the water pump but that is a month old. Anything else also my heater isn't really working very well when its really cold and the car doesn't heat up at all when it is cold idk what it could do

Sounds like you might have installed the wrong thermostat. Did you get an LTx specific stat?

When you changed the sensor, you probably lost coolant. Did you replace the coolant, and bleed the air out?

+1 on Fred's comment. Probably need to fill and bleed the system and all should be fine if it was a simple R&R job.

You may have a fault in the low coolant sensor wiring and your heater core might be plugged up. Both are possibilities.

Try bleeding the system again... I had to bleed it 3 times before getting all the air out...

Bleed the system until coolant flows freely from the bleed screw with NO air breaking the stream.

Protect the Opti from the coolant flowing out. I use several layers of terri-cloth towels.

Be sure to check the coolant level in the RADIATOR.

Yeah i bleed it until there was no air at all i also checked the coolant level it and its full in the radiator and reservoir. The light doesn't come on immediately only if the car is warmed up and starts to creep up hotter then usual and once i start driving it cools down and the light stays on until i turn off the car and turn it back on. Ill try to bleed it again when i get home thanks for the input guys
