Low Coolant Light

I just finished a heads and cam install a week ago. Ever since then when I step on it hard, the low coolant light will pop on and stay on until I turn the car off. But if I am just driving normal around town the light does not come on at all. The coolant is full and I have bleed the system a couple of times. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks
Kevin C

I've had the same problem. I didn't add any mods, but I converted my 94 V6 to a 97 Z28 (it was a bitch because of the 3 year difference........just about EVERYTHING was different between those model years)
Everything works just fine....my coolant is full, but my low coolant light comes on every day. I have a brand new radiator and a brand new coolant sensor. Anyone else having the same problems we are having?

that sensor is known for going bad, if your coolant is full and your temps are running where they should be just ignore it, or i think you can unplug it and the light will go off, my light has been on for years

See the weird part is that my temps actually seem to be lower than before. I just havent paid it any mind

If you unplug it, the light goes away. Mine did the same thing, so I saved my money and just unplugged the damn thing instead of buying a new one. Never had a sensor before, why would I need one now.

Mine does it also. Good amount of fluid and bled the system....still pops on. I had thought it turned off for good, but nope....came back on. The light is annoying and doesn't look cool to passengers in the car. I am going to replace the sensor.

Like was said before: unplug it and check the coolant regularly.

If you have a multimeter, you could always test the sensor and see if it falls within spec. Shoebox has the table of values and tutorial on his website.

Kevin... it's kind of funny that you have posted this since mine is doing the same thing. Maybe it's a eastern NC thing, let's just blame it on WR&P . I think I'll unplug the sensor and drive on because my coolant levels are fine and the temperature is fine.

The sensor is located in the radiator, just below the fill neck. Shoebox has a photo here: http://shbox.com/1/low_coolant.jpg

Easy to get to once the battery is removed.

I just unplugged mine it was always on, and obviously broken. Fairly stupid sensor, as long as you check you fluids every month or so your fine.
