Motor is Toast! Or So I thought!
After being curious about all the blue smoke coming from my exhaust I decided to start breaking the motor down fearing the worst. I started by removing the spark plugs and as soon as I checked the first one I nearly went in my pants. The plug was black with baked on oil. I thought my motor was done for.
I then decided to tear the car down further so I went and removed the headers so I could look at the exhaust valves. I stuck my finger in the hole and it felt wet, sticky, and moist inside. When I pulled my finger out I saw nothing but oil and carbon on it. I then went and pulled the valve cover and inspected the valve train. To my dismay I saw that the AFR valve seals had come off whatever the hell they go on (now I know why my valve cover was smoking like an Indian chief).
The thing is what do I do now? I remember that I had used so many shims to get my beehives to fit right that there wasn't much room left for the AFR Valve seals to slip over. Has anyone had this problem before? I'm sure I'm not the first. And what do you guys recommend I use to get the oil out of my exhaust. That baked in oil can't be helping these 2300 dollar heads.
I really just want to enjoy driving my car I hate going through all this.
