Low Coolant Light

If I recall correctly, lots of people disconnect thier low coolant lights because it goes off on error alot, right? Mine went off a while back, car never got hot and I drove it the 3 miles home and let it cool (Was normal operating temp - 185*) But it was full of coolant. They're comonly known to not work correctly, right?

Re: Low Coolant Light

I hope so because i flushed my cooling system and it was off and on for a month even though it was full of coolant! It eventually stayed off though

Mine did the same thing until about 5000 miles ago. It would constantly come on and off until one time it shut off for good.

I just replaced mine... It was $37 at a local dealer... the old one was full of sludge... It might have worked if I had just cleaned it but I didn't bother trying...

I suggest it's cheap insurance to have a functioning low coolant sensor to guard against a true coolant leak. Just replace the sensor it's easy and cheap to do.

Re: Low Coolant Light

I have to laugh now, I just replaced all heater hoses and pulled the heater element looking for leaks. Light came on again, coolant levels good. Auto Zone here I come, again.
