Low Coolant Light

Can't figure out why my low coolant light is going on. The car doesnt over heat, and the resevoir seems to be fine, and the radiator is full when i open it on a cold engine. Any ideas? Would me having a fairly low Coolant to water ratio have anything to do with it?

Mine came on the other day also. All I did was start the car and open the bleed screws to get the air out of the line. After I did that it fixed itself.

Mine is always on too. Goes on and off, but mostly on. Can't figure out why either. I just ignore it cuz it could be anything.

This is a common problem with that little black box. If everything checks out good, then the sensor has gone bad.

you can replace the sensor, it is right underneath the radiator filler neck. Or you could just unplug it, and the light will go out permanently.

It's probably a bad sensor, if the radiator is full. I just replaced mine about a week ago. The part number from the GM dealer is 10096163. The wholesale price is $32.16, or at least that's what I got it for. Hope this helps!

I checked my coolant levels this morning (again) and THIS time it was 2 litres shy of being full! Yet the resevoir still had sufficient coolant left in it. It was just above the full mark on the marker.

So I'm guessing my sensor is fine, but why would this happen? I've recently had my engine rebuilt about 2 weeks ago, so ive been checking my coolant almost all the time (every few days) and its been right up to the brim of the radiator each time! Why would it be 2 liters shy this morning?

Mine kept lighting up but everything was fine. I replaced it and Ive never seen it go on again. I was told by the dealership that it goes bad around 70Kmi.

Mine came on and the coolant level and temp was ok. Pulled the sensor out and it was all clogged up. Replaced it and the light never came back on.
