My car makes a funny noise when I take off.

When I take off from a stop sign or just out of my drive my car makes this noise in my rear end.It sounds almost like the muffler is dragging on the ground.Have any of you guys had this happen before..i hope nothing is going bad

Is your muffler dragging? jk

Does this describe your problem :http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hreadid=137380
Or is it definitly from the back end?

I don't know if you have an m6 or not.

Any vibration at all?

You should get your rear checked out from a shop ASAP.

Alittle vibration in the rear end but nothing like seat shaking

loose u joints or torque arm bolts could cause a vib at takeoff that doesn't appear at speed. I've experienced them both, but thats more like a thunking sound than a muffler dragging sound. Maybe if something is loose it's the driveshaft is rubbing? If it was that loose though it would probably be a major vibration.

this is one of those really hard things to guess at based on just a short description.

How many miles are on your car? When was the last time you changed the rear diff oil? I had a similar problem, and when I changed my rear diff oil, it went away. Do that, then see if its still there.
