Question Low coolant light....

For the past month or so my low coolant light will come on for no reason. I have plenty of coolant in the radiator and over fill tank. What could be causing the light to come on?

Aside from the obvious like bleeding air out of the system and checking for leaks at hoses I would say a bad sensor. You can disconnect the sensor and the problem should go away. That, of course, won't solve your problem if it actually is related to coolant level. Also, a bad radiator cap will let air leak into the system.

I had this same problem. Was a bad coolant level sensor. Common problem. It is on the radiator right next to the battery. A new one was $23 from www.gmpartsdirect.com. Very easy install. If you disconnect it, the light will go out.

i've got mine unplugged,

one of these days i'm going to pull it out and try cleaning it, i was told if you clean it sometimes it functions properly again...cheaper than buying a new one anyway...
