low coolant

Ok so i changed my thermostat because the low coolant light came on and i had coolant in it and the heater wasn't working right and the water pump is new and changed all the hoses and bleed the system and the heater works now but the coolant light keeps coming on. So i changed the sensor and it does it again. it only does it when the car is warmed up but if i turn the car off and turn it back on it goes off for about 5 min and comes back on. the car is completely full of coolant and the heater core isn't leaking im guessing because my passenger side isn't wet. Any thoughts on what it might be. Thanks guys

The low coolant sensor is problematic for everyone.

Two easy options for killing the idiot light.
1. Buy a brand new sensor.
2. Unplug the existing sensor. Done.

95% of the folks use option #2.

The only thing is that i have just replaced the sensor and idk if its possible but the car seems to be getting over cooled. The heater works but not very well also it only comes when the car sits it starts to heat up to about 210 but then goes down and when driving never gets above the first line

Or, you can make sure the coolant is filled all the way to the top of the radiator when cold. If it's not, your sensor is not malfunctioning...it's working. Low coolant could cause your heat to fluctuate as well.

Yes, check the coolant level in the RADIATOR when the engine is cold. It's possible all the air hasn't been bled out.

Where are you checking to see if the system is full - at the reservoir, or at the radiator fill cap?

Try disconnecting the batt. for a few min then connect it back and see if that fixes the light. Also try pulling your heater core hose's off and putting a water hose to one line going into the firewall at a time to reverse all the junk built up in your heater core. Just a thought........

disconnecting the battery has got nothing to do with re-setting the low coolant light.
