the best sound you can get and the setup I'm going with is hooker long tubes and a 12" borla xr-1 muffler. I have a couple of friends with this setup, one on a third gen and one on an ls1 car and the both sound amazing.

I have headers, carsound high flow cat, and the SLP loudmouth exhaust and it's pretty loud. The only thing I'm afraid of now is getting pulled over for being to loud.

mine should be pretty loud soon as it goes through inspectino - slp headers- offroad y-pipe and loudmouth

wanted the longtubes- but alas inspection would only pass shorties and it was either that or car wasnt given a title

Yea, I think I may be going with a Hooker muffler and 3" e-cutout next.

If only i knew what kind of headers are on my car, I've just been guesing by the style, no markings on them. Anyways, I have headers to a high flow cat. Yes I'd rather have a real cat on than gutted or none at all. And a borla catback. with no restrictor plate in the car is really loud, almost as loud as no cat and the sound is cleaner with no bad exhaust smell.

I run wide open longtubes on my daily driver and Ive never gotten any **** for it, I am surprised about that though, pretty much the loudest car ive ever known of driving on the street in my area is my car... I think it sounds bad *** though so I didnt see any reason to spend 500-1200 putting in a fancy schmancy exhaust.... not like it would be any louder if I rean pipe out the back or anything...
