I'm getting a full catback for Christmas. Currently I have a magnaflow muffler on stock pipes. I was wondering which is louder - Magnaflow or Hooker catback? I'm looking for something a little louder than the magnaflow muffler which is almost as quiet as stock from the interior.......thanks.

 

The magnaflow catback is louder than the Hooker.

 

Alright thanks.....either will probably be louder than what I have now. Mine has a very muffled sound to it, and I can barely hear it from the interior. I want to hear the exhaust but not to the point where it's annoying.

 

The only lt1 i heard with a magnaflow wasn't as loud as my hooker catback. They seemed pretty close but the mine was a little louder. But i have only heard 1 car with it though.

Mine is quiet during cruizing, but when I get on it it wakes up. This is with longtubes and an o/r y-pipe. I couldn't be happier with it overall, it just sounds so awesome. I went flyin by one of my friends at 100mph at full throttle and he said it sounded 10x better than any mustang he ever heard, although I know sound is just a matter of opinion. But under full throttle it just plain sounds amazing.

Thanks for your help. I just ordered the Hooker cat-back along with some BMR LCA's from Thunder Racing

 

It's kinda after the fact now, but I have the Hooker on my '96 Z-28 and I love it. The tone is really pleasing though I certianly would never say that its the loudest thing on the market. Good choice!

 

Hehe......I'll get some sound clips on here once it's installed (after Xmas) and some driving clips too.

 

Anyone have pics of what the catback looks like on a Camaro?
