loud clacking noise

Someone narrow this down for me....I have normal oil pressure i.e 40 psi @1800 and 20 @idle of 900 when warm. I have an incredibly loud ticking coming from the passenger compartment that sounds like a bad lifter/ bent pushrod /bad spring. But the whole valvetrain is new. it gets louder under acceleration and when off the pedal it goes away for a brief second, then comes back again..Any suggestions?? It baffles me because I know bearings that are shot would give a serious drop in oil pressure.

Quote from myself, "well I will try and change the oil to see if there is any metal parts in the oil or shiny oil. OK, no metal or shiny oil, let's read the dipstick and see if I have to add oil, OK, it's stuck will loosen it, HEY!! how did that header bolt come out almost half way?? Hey, another one on the opposite side!! Let me tighten my header bolts down then start it up!! Where did the noise go?? (Kicks himself as hard as he can in the dairy-air) Put me down as another idiot who did not check the obvious and expected the worst

WooHoo! Glad to hear that's all it was! A lot cheaper than a spun bearing that's for sure!

been there and done that...i thought that i had rocks bouncing around in my valvetrain, i was scared that my motor was shot. Ended up just being an exhaust leak from the collector on my mac mid-length headers. Now all i have is the usual clicking and such from the Comp R 1.6's. On a side note, is it normal for those puppies to make some noise??? I have adjusted them 3 times and they always sound the same. I'm just wondering.

Normal to make some noise but if you can hear it in the car, then it's not adjusted quite properly
