Well I posted about this a week or two ago. Occasionally I would hear a really loud bang when I start my car. Well today I was having a torque convertor installed and my flexplate had some teeth missing. So this was the problem. What usually causes the teeth to break??

 

My guess would be a misaligned starter or someone trying to start the car while its already running, which would be pretty dumb to do on a V8.

 

Yeah I have no idea how it happened. I've never tried starting it once its on either.
