Well , it all started the other day i was going up hill and my tranny would shift out of second, so drove the car in 2nd gear auto btw, called my tranny guy he said to let him have a look at it, on the way driving there for the first 15mins the car actually shifted fine , but then about 15 mins later it just had 2 gears again then the cars rpms started bouncing and i had a loss of power , well made it to the tranny guys house he drove it he said its something to do with the computer we scanned the car , came up with , iac code,code 72 trans output, and i think map or maf , this power loss was instant , well today i took off throttle body elbow, all the way to the cold air intake and cleaned the air filter and sealed everything, the idle stayed around 1000 rpms in park and seemed normal, drove around the block still power loss , tranny had a big delay before it shifted it acts like its not making enough power to shift, also i can keep the throttle steady and the my mph drops? while im driving I just had the tranny rebuilt in november drove fine babied the car in the winter no races, tranny fluid red no burnt smell or anything,checked for vacuum leaks with starting fluid could not find any,what would happen that would lose so much power i know what a miss feels like it, just like it lost 150 hp ,also the car seems to shake alot , and the exhaust does not sound good either? anyone have these problems, I did change the VSS to

 

Dude, that sounds like it might be what';s wrong with my car. Take a look at my thread a few threads down and see if that's what's happening to your car too.

BTw, the car has new AC delco plugs less than a year old, brand new plug wires as of last week , I dont think my opti is my problem but I dont know the car seems to idle fine now just loss of power and not shifting right, checked for arching lastnight no sign of it , the car never shuts off or has a problem starting up, i hear the fuel pump prime too before it starts,

is your car overheating? check for an exhaust restriction, maybe your cat broke apart and is blocking the exhaust flow...happened to me...just an idea

 

I have no cat to break , i just went and bought a TPS see if it helps will keep updated

I am Having the same problem anybody figure out what it is yet.

 

check your wires, one or more of them may have gotten manifolded and now its arcing

 

well my tranny went out, coil was bad , then the 02's went bad and i had a throttle body to maf intake hose leak

 

WOW THAT SUCKS... tranny and coil and then O2'S.....
