Losing oil pressure under acceleration with 383

What would cause oil pressure to drop under acceleration? I installed a mechanical gauge today to check it out, & under acceleration, as the RPMs come through about 3500-4000 or so, the pressure drops from 50ish to 25ish real fast. & then it slowly climbs back up to about 30.

What the heck could cause this? My mechanic that built the 383 said it was just the oil pressure sender, but I put the mechanical gauge on it to check & it says the same thing.

I'm pretty pissed at the mechanic, but what would cause it?

Thanks a lot

Steve

you can buy a plate that goes between the oil pump and block that keeps the oil from climbing up the back of the pan. I take it if you rev it while setting still it goes up in PSI> ?What happens if you toll into the, rpms climb them high slowly?

if I accelerate slowly, or just rev the engine siting still the oil pressure is fine, it's just while accelerating that it does it

you wouldn't have happened to put a high volume oil pump in would you? that would likey suck the stock oil pan dry.
