Angry Crazy noise please help!!!!!

I have a weird rattling noise, it almost sounds like the exhaust is coming loose. After crawling up underneath and checking everything for security I realised it was coming from the cat. I was considering cutting it off but I don't know if it is bad because I am not throwing any codes????? Any advice will be appreciated on this issue and if anyone has any o2 sims for the rear please let me know! Thanks guys

gm is real good for crappy cats. the ceramic brick catalyst inside the converter will break loose over time, mine did in my 97 and my buddies 98 is going as well, if you live in a area w/ rough roads, experienced misfires, or have lowered or beat on the car, they will break loose.

casper electronics sells o2 sims for our vehicles,

or you can build your own if you are electronically inclined..

I am going to be building two here shortly, for both our trucks.

good luck.

Another Question

Shouldn't my car be throwing a code if this is the problem, as far as the ceramic inside breaking apart?

no, it will take a whlie before it does that. it's like a two or three stage converter, meaning it has little bricks of the ceramic monolithic blocks in there (like two or three honeycomb shaped bricks shaped like the inside of the converter).

My front half busted up and when I went around corners it would rattle really bad and turn sideways and kill my exhaust flow. it was like a 2-4-6 engine, but it would die out at the worst times..
