Loose drivers mirror
Hey all,
anybody else had a drivers mirror that shook like crazy when driving? Not the whole assembly, just the glass part. When I drive it shakes pretty bad and look over at the passenger mirror and it is rock solid. Help!
How can fix this? Can it be fixed?
Thanks,
Rusty

Mine has done that ever since I had the driver door replaced after a deer hit me(thats right, I didn't hit her, she hit me). This thing jumped head first into my fender and her *** came around and slammed into my door(instantly laying a fat streak of sh*t down the side of my car.....). I almost had some sh*t on my drivers seat too, J/K. Anyways, I think the guys in the body shop just didn't tighten the screws enough when they put the old mirror on the new door.......sorry, I just had to share the deer story.
There are 4 parts to the mirror. The glass, the motor, the mounting bracket, and the housing. The bracket is bolted to the door and screwed into the housing. The bolts are accessably when you remove the triangular piece of plastic inside the door. The mirror needs to be off the car to get to the screws that attach the bracket to the housing. The motor screws to the housing as well, and to access these screws you need to either position the mirror out of the way or pull the mirror glass right off. The last piece of the mirror is the glass. This just snaps in to some clips on the motor.
I would pull the mirror right off the car if you plan on pulling the glass off. It takes quite a bit of force to clip the glass back on, and I don't think the mounting bracket is that strong. They don't sell the mounting bracket by itself, so I would save the potential hassle and cost of getting a new mirror assembly by just removing the whole thing if you are going to pull the glass off.

Mine shakes too
It sucks when i am on the interstate since it is hard to see people behind you. It is most likely due to an accident a few years ago on my car. Get ambitious and fix it. It is worth it if it annoys you. Good luck

Same problem here with new mirror installed at dealership.
So Bastardcat, once you remove the interior plastic piece are those three screws accesable?
