Loose dowel pin?

Ok well i have had some really tought times getting the old dowel pin out of the cam im about to put into my car, but finally had a machine shop get it out. I purchased a new longer one from GM and it a a little (maybe 1-2 tenths) to narrow. It goes in pretty easy and i was wondering if maybe i could put some JB WELD in ther to make it stay? good idea or no? I have to have the done by the weekend. Thanks

Go ahead. Some green loctite will also do the trick.

Re: Loose dowel pin?

Is there any pressure on the dowel pin while in the car, or is it just a reference point for the opti?

By 1 to 2 tenths are you referring to .1-.2? or do you mean .0001-.0002? If its the first, I would not use JB weld, I would get the right pin. If its the second, you must have mic'd it and then just use some strong loctite.
