looking to rebuild a 93 LT1

hey guys i found this site through fullsizechevy.com. they said you'd be able to help me outa good bit.

I have a 88 silverado 2wd that i'm about to drop in an LT1 from a 93 z28. i have acquired the car for 800 bucks and its been sitting for a little over a year.

i'm wanting to rebuild the motor, but i dont know that much about the engines and cam # and all that. THe little i know is that its not going to be built for ALL GO b/c its still going to be driven daily as much as i can. i'd like to prolly bore it 30 over.

I mainly just want to hear the thump that the old muscle cars had. i need to put in a bigger cam and crank i know. but can anyone help me out? lead to ones that can help me out? i want the power range to be for whenever i step on it. heads will be ported and polished with a 3 angle valve job.

i'm looking for direction. you guys please help me out

thanks guys!
Jeremy

You should not need to buy a new crank. You can get by with a basic rebuild, rings, bearings, and pistons if you bore it out. some mild port work on the heads and the GM Hot cam should get you the power you are looking for. Don't forget that you will need a custom chip to get the most out of a cam change.

I don't suppose you still have a stock CD player from the 93? I'm looking for one.

Just another reference for you might be www.speeddensity.org. They specialize in 93s.
