hey my buddy is a mechanic and he told me not to put headers on the car because its gonna take a long time to put them on and he also said that when your doing that , that i may as well just put plugs and wires on also i know that i can get headers on ebay with a 3" y pipe for really cheap

I have the same set on my car. Although it does seem as though they are out of stock - look on eBay for the stainless "knockoffs" - they are the same as LPPs.

Get a new mechanic. He'll tell you they take a while to put on because he is intimidated by the task. If you've never done it before it can be time-consuming, but it's not like it will take you a month. You can have them in in a weekend, taking your time. As mentioned, they provide immense gains over the stock manifolds and are one of the best bang-for-your-buck mods for LT1s.
