Get a pair of used non-coated SLP 1 3/4" midlength headers; that's what I did. Only thing is YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR HEADERS COATED BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!!!!! Trust me, you will thank yourself later when you DON'T have burned wires etc.

BTW, I will have my Dynatech long tube headers and custom y-pipe up for sale here in this coming week!

Interesting, do you mind if I ask why are you selling your headers?

Kook's headers have the best clearance I've seen for long tubes. Very nice.

I get pretty good groung clearance with my Jet Hots and Hooker Y-pipe. My car is also lowered 1.5". The only thing that occasionally drags is my turn down.
And as far as differences between LTs and shorties, I gained 50rwhp stepping up from Hooker Super Comp Shorties and the CC305 to Jet Hots and the CC306.

Re: Looking for LT's with good ground clearence.

The reason I am selling these headers is that plug access isn't that great and the car that they are on is my daily driver. The headers are quality constructed and sound great, but after doing one plug and wire change on them they are not for me. Plus, I am installing some Kook's headers on my '95 Z28 (the naughty car) which currently has MAC mid-lengths that I will be putting on my car with the Dynatechs now. MAC's have AWESOME plug access compared to the Dynatechs. That is the reason for me selling them.

You know the cam was resposible for most of the gains right? Friends has some dyino charts comparing some LT's and shortys he had on a Stang. The power is roughly the same except the LT's seem to creat more torque in the lowend. While the shortys seems to be better for the top end. Maybe I'm reading the chart wrong.

For some reason Texas Speed's prices are lower than SLP's website for the SLP shorty headers.

For some reason it seems the actual manufactures of the product they sell always charge more than the other websites. Another example would be RKsport and MBA.

Any idea why? It would seem it should be the opposite. Do you know if SLP would price match maybe?

I think SLP would do a price match. But why not just buy it form Texas Speed and save the trouble?

Manufacturers dont want to undercut their distributors. That is why they cost more.

Re: Looking for LT's with good ground clearence.

Kooks have the best ground clearance due to their headers/y combo being slip/clamp fit and not flanged, and also the fact that the Y pipe goes AROUND the trans Xmember instead of under it, like all the rest, which was a smart move on their part.

Pace Setters are also a slip fit header/y-pipe.
