Looking for a good machine shop in New Jersey
I have an LT-1 block that i want cleaned, and Magnafluxed, bored 30 over, line honed, decked, and have cam bearings installed. I will put it together myself. Anybody know of a good machine shop in Jersey?
They did all of the work on my SB... cooked, cleaned, bored, decked, align honed, cut the crank, reconditioned the rods, set clearances, balanced, and assembled.
They also installed and degreed the cam, installed the heads, rockers, etc. I was going to do this, but had crashed my bike and broke my collarbone about a week after I dropped the engine off.
D&F was highly recommended to me. I have absolutely no complaints. Ask for Dave.

The total bill was $2700.00 including SB parts and assembly. I believe they used JE pistons (I'd have to double check - I know they weren't cheap) along with file-fit rings. They will give you a fairly accurate estimate over the phone.

engine specialties in Delran. Scott built my shortblock from the ground up. $3800 and he bought the parts. Cleaned, magged, cam and crank bores aligned, .030 over on the holes, decked, and assembled. Eagle lightweight forged crank and rods and JE pistons. Oh and balanced it obviously.
