Looking for good eng. combo lt1

Ok here's the deal. I have a 95 z-28 6spd car. I am looking to make like 400whp with it. Can it be stroked to a 383 w/ the lt eng.? If so, which I'm guessing you can, what is a good cost effective kit? Heads....Are my stock heads good enough as they are allumn. already? I use to be a big stang banger and I only know about performance stuff for those cars. I am currently working with a couple local boys who build these things but not sure yet what to do, or where to get it? I was thinking 383 w/ ported heads, whats a good cam? Should I call comp or something? Lunati? Also, what intake upgrades can I do? Can I change inj. size and do I have to get a bigger maf and t-body then? Obviously the maf needs to be calibrated to the inj. size or can this be programmed by pcmforless? What is a cheap fix to the crappy rear ends in these cars? Ford 9" I assume. not cheap.... How much emissions crap can I get rid of with out setting ses light? Please help as all my friends are big ford nuts and I am taking alot of crap for switching to chevy. Not to mention my camaro is purple. The way I figure is I will blow by all my ford friends with a purple camaro and that will be even sweeter then. LOL. Well thanks for all the help in advance.
Mike

eportworks you can make 400rwhp+++ with only heads and cam with all the bolt ons. Try his le2 set up. It is very cheap HP. If you do the work your self and you already have all the bolt ons you can put his heads and cam in for about $2000. That would be heads, cam, gaskets, and an online tune. Do a search on here for Lloyd Elliott or Le2 setups. I don't think there is any1 that is disapointed with his work. I am doing a 383 Le2 Heads
Le4 cam and should make 450rwhp.

Ok are we talking a stock lower end with just h,c,i? Or is it a 383 w/ h,c,i? If I can get away with a stock but freshend up lower end with h,c,i and make that kind of power that would be great.

Yes, with the Lloyd combos, you can push those numbers on a stock bottom end.

Thats cool I am going to do a 355 w/ forged internals and the le2 setup. I hope this should be good for 400rwhp. Sounds like it will though. Thanks guys

Seeing as I am only 30 minutes away and making easily more than enough to put 400rwhp down thru an M6 I think the best research you could do would be to checkout whatever cars are nearby like mine.

Your understanding of MAF/injector/tb is all based off the Mustang stuff obviously and we do things a little differently. The LT1 is one of the most easily accessed computers and on this side of things MAF mods are frowned on by those of us who know what we are doing.
Send me a PM if you want to check out my car.
