Lookin at doing these mods

Ok
I am going to get the lt4 hot cam and port the heads at a machine shop to match the cam. Im getting a full exhuast, Lt's, y-pipe, and borla cat back. Whould that get me in low 12's? If not than what additions should I get?

I might want to also port the Air intake manifold and throttle body with Cold air intake.

Re: Lookin at doing these mods

My car with a CC306 cam stock heads and intake...Had Hooker LT with 3 inch y pipe no cats and hooker muffler, 4.10 gears I dynoed 353 RWHP and 342 RWT I also slapped down a 12.7 at 115MPH SO I am sure that setup will get you into the 12's

Re: Lookin at doing these mods

that should definately get you into the 12's, but with P&P heads i would strongly recommend a bigger cam. you have a stick or an automatic?

It is a 6speed. Why do you reccomend a better cam? I was told in another thread the the Lt4 hot cam gives good gains and sounds great and streetable at the same time with good fuel efficiency. What cam do you reccomend?

The headwork would be wasted on a hotcam. The hotcam is mild, and flows just fine on stock heads.

If you're shelling out the bucks for the headjob, you really need to go with the bigger cam so it's not wasted. No smaller than cc305, with cc306 recommended, or the comparable XE cam.

How about Ported and polished Heads with the CC306 cam? Will that make a good street driver? I want a road car, not track car... but I also want it to sound crazy.

nice and streetable if the pcm is tuned right! It is streetable enough to drive it on a very technical road course It works well with ported heads for me anyway.
Did i mention a good PCM tune

Re: Lookin at doing these mods

not trying to be rude or anything, but your goals for this motor are a bit to broadl. its going to be hard to have a streetable cam that lopes like a pro stocker, and makes good power low in the RPM range. like i posted in the other thread, and chris ulrich posted here, the XE 227/233 cam on stock heads would probably be your best bet. if you go to the group purchase forum, you will see that combination motorsports is offering a group purchase on their cam kits that include everything you need to install a new cam for a pretty low price. but hurry up because the deal ends this week i believe.
