Longtube Headers

Ok, rather than spending 300 bux for a Y pipe, I've had many people tell me about longtube headers. What brand to get. Im not looking to spend for than around $650 for headers and I am looking for ceramic coated ones. Also, do any come with the Y pipe with them? Now, run exhaust with or without cats with my magnaflow exhaust system? I am not able to install them myself yet, but how much to have a shop do them or a buddy of mine will do it, but how much do you think labor will cost?

Also, what do about O2 sensors? I know to put sims in the back, but do the longtubes come with O2 bungs?

I am pretty much looking for Ceramic coated longtube headers with an offroad Y pipe with no cats and running through my magnaflow system. Anyone heard a system like this?

Yes but you will for sure be spending over $650 for the project. You sound like a good candidate for AS&M's. They come with all O2 fittings and Emission with Y-Pipe for around $750. Plus they are coated inside and out. They are outstanding Headers. If you and your friend were to do them., (and this is if it is a good friend), I would say like $100 for labor and a 6 pack of beer. They aren't that hard at all to install. Just a bit time consuming. If you take them to a shop. They are going to rape you on labor. Good Luck

Well i could go $800 max after x-mas. I would like to get a set of longtubes and run without cats. Don't have emmissions here in Minnesota. What places have the best prices on headers?

hm.... there is about a million different choices of headers there. Could you tell me what part number there is the longtube header for my 97 Z28? Also do those come with a Y pipe? Or would I have to buy one seperate? Also, do they make offroad Y pipes for longtubes?

I have the Jet hot long tubes, with a custom y pipe, and the magnaflow exhaust. I would reccomend getting a custom pipe made for you b/c many people ave problems with the fitments of the y pipes they sell. I would aslo get a cut out b/c it sounds awesome and is loud . it cost me 1000 total.

Those are just custom tips for the stock exhaust. I love the fact that they are unique and beautiful. Back when I bought the car new in '97 the first thing I did was change the exhaust tips. I really don't like the stock square ones.

The one's I bought were a nice solid set, with a beautiful dual chrome finish with rolled lips on the end. I almost hate to get an aftermarket cat-back because I'll loose those tips, unless I get a reducer and still use them. I don't want to add any back pressure by keeping them on a cat-back though.

Just call Jet-Hot and tell them the year of your car, they have great customer service. I ordered the Jet-Hot LT's and the Hooker Y-Pipe & the O2 extensions, and they got it all to me for $840 shipped (3 day Fedex).
Good Luck.

Jet-Hot sells the hooker off-road Y-pipe that goes with the Jet-Hot LT's

I've heard alot of good stuff about Hooker headers. I am thinking about ordering their headers out of the Summit catalog and getting them ceramic coated and ordering the Stainless Works Offroad Y pipe. Total adds up to about $800. Now, WIll I need O2 extensions? And does anyone know of Hooker's come with the O2 bungs built in?
