autometer transtemp install, quick question...

do i really have to drop the pan and drill a hole in it? to install the sender or is there already a spot for it?thanks adam

On the drivers side of the transmission, there is a small plug above the pan close to the bellhousing. I removed the plug and put the temp sensor there with a little liquid teflon sealant, works great, no leaks. Its not as accurate as the pan but it really isn't that big of a difference, and the install is very clean.
