I would be more towards the delteq, not as much power gain as the exhaust route, but you get peace of mind that you never have to replace the opti again. Plus it helps support more mods down the road. But your money though.

Re: Long Tubes and X-pipe or Delteq

I have a complete delteq ignition (never used or mounted, but has been opened) for sale, pm me interested.

If your doin high milelage and think your opti is gonna fail on you then do the delteq. If not then go with the headers/catback.

Man this is a tuff one. But in your case, since your cammed, it looks like longtubes with some good true duals, will help you out.

I love the difference the delteq made on my car. But I don't know how much your current exhaust is holding you back. Are your running a off road y-pipe? And what catback is it?

Re: Long Tubes and X-pipe or Delteq

not a real reply just a few question to think about.

Would you need to remake the plug wires for the delteq after you switch to headers in the future? Is that just another added cost of doing these things out of order?

If your mods are performance orrientated, then go with the exhaust, if you are looking for reliability and don't want your opti crapping out then go for the delteq.

Well IMO you do get performance out of the Delteq as well. I went from 13.8@101 to 13.3 @ 104, from upgrading to the Delteq and mail order tune.

Longtubes baby, YEA and true duals. And if the opti ever does go out then go delteq. I think msd stuff puts out enough to keep the fire lit in there. But with shorties and relatively stock catback i think the option 1 will be of most hp and an increase in fuel economy. That is my .02 but it is just that $.02 dont take that to the bank they will just laugh.

I wouldn't change the opti till it died...which it will...a couple times...but if it works for now roll with it...get the LTs and stuff and have fun...

Re: Long Tubes and X-pipe or Delteq

If you go with longtubes, make sure you get your car dyno'd again to show these guys the gain LT's will make over shorties. BTW if you get longtubes, get Kook's and nothing less.
