long tubes, PITA!!!

ahhh...drivin me nuts...to get the driver side in, i had to remove oil filter, steering shaft, jackup the motor, and then remove the motor mount from the cross member, take out all plugs, and the water temp sensor...passenger side was a little easier, only had to take off starter and jack up the motor...i ran new plugs and wires...bolting the headers to the heads was a pita too...i ended up getting some allen bolts, because i couldnt get a socket on the head of the bolts because the bolts are so close to the primaries...havnt bolted up the driver side yet...im also having trouble finding a way to keep the new wires off of the headers...how close can they be without burning...the are not touching, but pretty damn close...within 1/2 inch...hopefully ill get this knocked out tommorow...

I used a modified box end wrench. I just dremeled the sides of the wrench down and could reach all of them. Even the back one on the passenger side. All i also had to do is jack up the engine.

I wouldnt think so. Commerce (atl dragway) is a 1/4 track. He only has 1/8 tiems

I put some Taylor Firesleeves on mine and have had no problems for more than a year. As long as they dont touch the header the firesleeves work great.

yeah i went up to commerce friday...hour and a half drive...45 min. wait in the tech line, got to the staging lanes and the rain started...but im goin back this friday if it doesnt rain...the 1/8th times are from right after i bought the car, i went up to the track at dallas...southeastern dragway...its closer, but i wanted to run my car on the 1/4...if yall wanna meet me up there this friday we can show up some of the rice...its the street car grudge night...i only saw like 5 street cars break under 13.5 while i was waiting in the staging lanes...my buddy and his '00 ss will probably come with me...so we can show some rice whats up...haha

i ended up running the wires in the stock location...no problems yet, its my everyday driver, and its been over a week now that the headers have been on there...so im keeping my fingers crossed...haha...man it sounds sweet..
