Long Tubes, KM, & False knock ??????

If my cars Hooker Long Tubes constantly keep hitting my cars K member, will my computer read this as false knock...... I also do have an lt4 knock module...... The Long Tubes used to vibrate and rattle only on take off, but after today that i installed the Borla catback the LT's now rattle/vibrate more while driving, not just on take off..... THX

I think you'll definitely see false knock. See if a local F-Body buddy has a data capturing program like Diacom to read you knock sensor to verify. Headers can even produce false knock without mchanical interference.

if you hook up a program to it and see it is getting knock, how do you know its false? do you use higher octane gas and see if the reading stays the same?

With the gas tank on empty, fuel up with 100 octane. If you see a reduction in knock, it's real knock and you need to find the source of the knock (bad wires/plugs, dyno tuning required, etc). If the knock remains the same with the high octane gas, it's probably false knock.
