long tubes, coated vs. non-coated
long tubes, coated vs. non-coated
does it make a performance difference between coated and non-coated or is it just a looks difference? i believe that the coated ones run cooler than the non coated, and if that is the case, do the non-coated ones run hotter than the stock headers? thanks.
Always coat your headers, it will be better in the long run. If you sell them you'll get more money, and they help reduce heat. Im pretty sure headers non coated vs. stock manifolds, the headers still keep the heat down.
I have mine wrapped.. Dont believe that the wrap makes a difference.. its doesnt! lol.. Get them jet coated.. The coating makes the FLow a TINY bit better aswell.. Say you gain 23 HP from the headers non coated.. You might see 25-27 HP with the coating.. Hey its a bit but its still more than some self mods out there, and every little bit helps.. Plus It keeps heat in the headers and out of the engine bay keeping the engine cooler and plug wires cooler.. Also i like the Finish on coated headers VS non coated.. They really stand out.. Personally I would order the JETHOT long tubes if I were you.. For 500 bucks you cant beat it.. I think there is a GP on them right now till the end of the month.. (they come coated)..
Always coated. It is extremely worth it. Reducing underhood temps is a very helpful thing. Within 25 minutes of the car sitting after driving around and leaving the hood up, I can firmly apply my hand to the primary and not suffer 3rd degree burns.
