Long Tubes and 168 teeth flexplate?

I'm finally going to install my long tubes that I've had over 1 1/2 years, but my problem is my engine builder put a 168 teeth flexplate in when I had it built a couple of years ago.

Does anybody know if the long tubes will work with a 168 teeth flexplate?

Thanks,

Jody J.

They will work fine. The flexplate in no way has any contact or correlation to the exhaust system, or the long tube headers in your case.

But what about the starter. I know with the 168 teeth flexplate, it pushes out the starter which I think might interfer with the long tubes.

I am in the same situation, does anyone know which starter to purchase for a 168 Tooth flexplate? Factory Starter wont fit, after engine builder used a B&M 168-tooth flexplate. It pushes the starter down about 1 inch.

Anyone?

I'm using a PowerMaster starter that fits both a 153 and 168 tooth flywheel.

I bought the autozone starter yesterday, #3510, and did a pre-fit and it seems to line up correctly. It also cleared the headers. We will test today if I have a chance after work, but you do need 2 long studs.

Thanks

Starter was $35 + $15 core.
