Long Tube install writeups

Well I plan on tackling a long tube install soon and was looking for some writeups on long tube installs. I remember reading a few previously. I tried doing a search, but could not find what I was looking for.

Any tips, or parts that I should make sure to order, that someone may forget? Thanks guys

here is a good write up.... http://www.theheadfl.com/jethotlt.htm

I didnt need to do all the work he did.. I dropped the k member though, its only 3 bolts on the side you need, the passenger side slides right in and you wont need to take the bolts out for the passenger, only the driver side.. also jack up the motor and take out the motor mount bolts.. while your in there i would suggest putting some poly motor mounts in, with the headers OUT!! i did them with em in.. what a pain, ill never do it again.. headers out is a different story, and for 30 bucks you cant go wrong.. get the poly ones not the solid though..

I've been going through the same thing lately. I made a list of everything I need:

1. EGR block off plates
2. Vacuum Caps for !AIR
3. New oil and filter
4. Stage 8 locking bolts and copper gaskets
5. New O2's
6. O2 extensions
7. And of course the headers and new exhaust

Your putting long tubes on??? I would NOT go with the stage 8 locking bolts.. Go with breslins, they are much easier. the stage 8 locking bolts still back off enough to make a leak and they are a PIAN IN THE REAR to put on, also the clips you have to install need to be cut on 50% of the bolts.. also the breslins have a smaller design and much much easier to tighten down..
