Locktite the same as thread sealant?

I'm reinstalling my heads this weekend and need to know what to use on the headbolts to seal them. I've read to get ARP thread sealant but I have some Locktite. What did you use?

Get the thread sealer and do it right, you dont want a leak.I used the ARP sealer on all the bolts.

So Locktite isn't the same thing that ARP sells?

No,are you using ARP bolts,I think they say you can use Permatex sealer on them also. The ARP is only about $6.00.

No I ordered stock replacements from GM. I just don't want to order from ARP and have to wait until next week to do the install. Hopefully Autozone sells good thread sealer (Permatex).

I was told by a couple of machine shop's that they found it was better to use Permatex Thread LOCKER RED. I didn't wanna make it a PITA to remove my stud's though so I used just the permatex thread sealant, but I swear I think they are leaking a lil I am using ARP Head Stud's though which are notorious for doing this. You'll be fine with ANYTHING. I never used ANY sealant with my stock head bolt's and they NEVER leaked. Bolt's are just different. I would go ahead and throw some sealant on there just in case though, can't hurt

It looks like they had selaer on them from the factory. I am pretty sure I will be using Permatex thread selaer from Autozone. It's like 4 bucks.
