This little car runs good

No..no the one in my sig...but that new setup is coming soon. I picked up another lt1 from a friend of mine and going to fix a few things on it and sell it. He wanted out and bought a 9 sec. ls1 and didn't feel like fooling with the car so I got it. Played with it this weekend some and just got back from a long cruise with it on the street. I have to say that this car run and drives great for what it is. The cam is pretty big...converter is a non lock up 4800 yank, 3.73 gears stock bottom end heads/cam car. Best it went on shake down runs was 11.20s @ 119 but has been detuned some since then. Never took it above 6200-6300 tonight when it would actually hook..which is only from a 45 role punch. Any kind of launch or a first gear hit instantly spins to shift point and continues to burn em down all the way in second if I don't pedal it. I'm basically going to try and improve on an already very streetable setup. building a light weight 355 to go in it...doing some other stuff and the car is going back up for sale. Anyway..sorry for the rambling but I had fun...anyhow..here is a pic of the car.

put some 4.10's in it and see what it will do at the track before you tear it apart. it will need more gear with your sr cam anyways. brian

I may do that...but new motor is going to be ready very soon. Should be out of machine shop monday. I'm also not going to slap the big solid roller in there. If I was keeping the car I would but too much has to be done to it to make it work with the current head setup. I do have a small solid roller here that I was going to use in my 383 lt1 going in the vette..may try that one.

they are weld draglites with metric tires on the front and bfg 275/50-15 draq radials on the back. Thanks man. I have some cosmetic work to do to to the paint but should be very nice when done. Its a full leather interior/fully loaded TA

yes, that is steves old car. First bolt on car in the 11s and held the record for over 2 years and was in gm high tech. The stock bottom end is still in the car just has a cyl. wall that got alittle scored up when a spark plug electrode broke off and beat around in the cyl. some. It still runs fine but we know its hurt since we pulled the head and looked at the damage. Cleaned up the rough edged on the piston and put it back together and has been running every since. But I have a new bottom end going in that will be a lightweight rotating assembly 355. Its going to be just as clean or cleaner than it ever was..hopefully faster... and will be for sale
