I had a leak with the slip fits on the header collecters and y pipe so I tightened it up and started the car and noticed a few drips of a clear orange tint liquid comen out this is the second time I noticed it since I put the headers on what do you think it is. They are coated pacesetter headers. off road y I have egr and air hooked up.

Signs of a blown head gasket with an internal coolant leak. Dexcool is orange.

X2 Dexcool is orange and so the only way you could get that into your exhaust is a blown head gasket.

The only way eh....

You can also get coolant coming out of your exhaust if you have porting issues in your exhaust port.

I would check your coolant levels and you never know...maybe it is condensation and rust?

also make sure you are not dripping coolant near the air intake and sucking it up. Long shot i know but it worth checking.

ok well the first thing to do would be watch your colant level and see if its going down.

After that you can start reading up on how to do a headgasket.

It seems that its leaking and it smells like coolant burning for a while now. 2 weeks ago I lost power stearing because some how coolant got on my belt and wasnt spinning the power stearing so now its all starting to add up. It must be just leaking alittle and the 1 time it leaked alot and stoped The car wasnt even warmed up when that happen. I just need to fing where the coolant is coming from. What do you think.

Yea its weird, Im thinking who ever owned the motor before mite have put in a leak seal crap and it slowed it down or something. But that all I can think of I really hope its not a head gasket The motor has 56k and I dont realy beat it and I maintain it very well.

have you checked the oil for water?

Do a search for blown head gasket and see if any of the smyptoms they have are the same as yours

Like oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil and so on.

Any overheating problems?

Since i seems like you do not have a lot of knowlege about the lt1 maybe it would be best to ask around and find a local shop that works on LT1s and take your car to them.

Are you saying you have only noticed the liquid dripping out of the collectors on a cold start? Exhaust has three major components..... nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water. When the exhaust system is cold, the water condenses in it. Does it ever drip when the exhaust is really hot? When the exhaust gets hot, and you have a coolant leak, the condensation will occur farther back in the exhaust, and you will have a cloud of white smoke out the exhaust.

Pressurize the cooling system with the engine off and cold, then with the engine warm. DOes the gauge drop?

All cars will condensate out of the exhaust. Do you have to add coolant? The leak on the drive belt, is it running down the header tube when cold?

Does it have an engine miss? If not, you do not have a blown head gasket into the cylinder, which is the only way coolant can get out the exhaust. Pull the plugs and read them, will also tell you if coolant is in the cylinder.
