What year is your car? Could it be a 95? Are they attempting to read the PCM with an OBD-II scanner?

You really need to add a "signature" showing info about your car... year, tranny, and major mods. That way people will have a better chance of helping you.

They are looking at the ALDL data connector, they see a 16-pin OBD-II connector, and they are hooking up an OBD-II scanner. But a 1995 is not OBD-II, so it won't "connect". 1995 is OBD-I and needs an OBD-I compliant scanner, with an adapter connector to convert from 12-pin to 16-pin.
