Line Lock & "Brake" light on my instrument panel?
I finally wired up my Hurst Line Lock & took it for a test burn out. It works great but I noticed that my "Brake" lights up on the instrument panel but then goes away a couple of seconds after I let it loose. Any info would be great....
Pretty sure I have seen posts that say that is normal. The light is there to indicate a pressure differential between brake channels and that is what you are causing when applying the line loc.
My SLP linelock setup does this too. The first day that we installed it this did not happen. Drove it 5 miles that day and then it sat for 2-3 weeks and now it does the same thing. Also, when you apply the brake hard the brake light on the instrument panel flashes on one time(real fast) and then it doesn't come on again. I was afraid we may have to bleed the system again. If this is normal then cool. My buddies also does the exact same thing.
It is completely normal for the "BRAKE" light to come on when you use the Line Lock. The block on the side of the ABS unit, that the lines from the master cylinder mount to, contains a pressure switch that goes on when there is a significant difference between the line pressures in the front and rear brake circuits..... and obviously when you use the line lock, the pressure is very high in the front brake lines, and "0" in the back brake lines.
It is NOT normal for the "BRAKE" light to flash once when applying the brakes under normal braking.
