I've got the new bottom end together, and now I'm curious about the heads. The motor goes like this....030" over 6" rod, 12:1 compression, 847 cammed 355.
I plan on running the same heads that are on the stock bottom end motor now. They've been "race" ported, and flow 271 CFM @ .550". Valves are 2.00"-1.56" Manley Pro-Flo's.
With these heads on my old set-up, the car went 12.0 @ 112 MPH. This was a stock (96,000 mile) bottom end, CC305, MAC header, 3448# '93 Camaro with stock supsension...so...I'm assuming the heads were working pretty good.

consensus seems too be, you will max out the stock intake before stock ported heads. i wouldnt worry about changing heads. but i would think about another intake too take full advantage of the heads (something converted IMO)

 

Advanced Induction has a set of thier LT1 castings and LT1 intake on a stroker that has been 10.14 I'm pretty happy with my stock castings on a stock bottom end as well

There are places that are getting 300CFM + from stock casting¨(Ai to name one) with the accompanying velocity!!!

My friend Rick Abare is running 10.15-10.20s with Ai ported castings!!!!!

 

With a stock intake that is pretty much just port matched.
