how can you tell if a lifter is bad. 97 lt1 ,580 lift cam 1.6 roller rockers. i have them at 1/4 pass 0 lash. i'm going to try 1/2,3/4 see if that helps. or should i pull intake and replace? it's the 4th one on drivers side.

 

if you tighten the suspected loose rocker arm, and the ticking sound goes away for a couple of seconds then comes back that would be a bad lifter... do this while the engine is running.

my rockers are tightened 1/2 turn past zero lash and i have had no noise what so ever.
