Lifter position

I just installed a cam in my car along with some new morel lifters, when the #1 cylinder is at TDC, what position should the other lifters be at on the same bank? I have a good idea, but am second guessing myself now..pics would be awesome...Thanks

When at #1 TDC, these lifter should all be on the base circle:

Intake: 1, 2, 5, 7
Exhaust: 1, 3, 4, 8

How about with a bigger custom cam? would it change the position that much?

Yes. Positions should be relatively the same for any cam, depending on lobe configuration.

Regarding lifter position, does the single oil inlet hole in the lifter need to point towards the front or the rear of the engine for best results?
My guess is it dont matter.
