lifter noise

Hope you guys can help with a problem I having. My sons ta has lifter noise that has gotten worse over the last month. These are comp rs but have not had trouble for a year with them . I have always set them at 1/8 turn and ever had this kind noise. Just pull the intake off to check for clips broken but none of them where broken. We sound like solid lifters. This is with a hot cam and Le 2 heads.

One lifter or several, I had one on my LT1, that clacked, rattled. I have read other lt1s have done this too, but this is stock cam and lifters.

Here is what it was.

Are you positive it is a lifter noise, or could it possibly be the noise of a small exhaust leak?
