leave my heads alone or not?

i am going to be installing an lt4 hotcam kit in the near future, should i leave the stock heads alone or do some porting to them?
i have a very reputable machine shop close to me so quality isnt an issue.

do these cams do well with stock heads? or should i get some porting done and maybe a valve job? i just want the best out of my car i can get so any information would be great!

Hotcam gets beat to death here on all the discussion. Do a search, You'll find more than you're looking for. I believe there are plenty of people running it on stock heads.

If you're going to port your heads, which help out a ton, I would maybe get a little bigger cam. The Cc306 and XE 224/230 are great cams that work well with ported heads. The cc306 will be the big guy that will crank out the HP, but I don't think you can pass emissions with it.

Sorry dude, but this question is kinda obvious. Of course porting your heads would be a good idea if you have the money because it'll give you 20+ HP (depending on the port). And of course, a good time to remove your heads is while you're installing a cam.

Do a search, you'll get plenty of info.
