Leaky injector confusion. Proper start up procedure verification needed.
I'm really confused by my injectors. My 95 LT1 sat for a couple years before making it into my project vehicle. I found I had 4 injectors that were so gummed up they wouldn't open. I verified the injectors by a home made alligator clip setup.
After getting all my injectors to open and fire fuel I installed them and fired the motor. After a week now I decided to pull the fuel rail to verify all the injectors were truly firing and not leaking. What I found has really confused me.
When I prime the fuel rail with the pump I get tons of fuel out of the #1 and #4 injectors. Then they both drip but I don't get much spray from the other 6 injectors. Just want to verify this is not correct and my #1 and #4 injectors are stuck open. All the garbled mess of injector threads really has me confused!
What is the proper procedure for fuel injectors on start up? Both when Key On Engine Off and Key On Engine On.
Thanks,
Andy
