leaking trans HELP

leaking trans HELP

i top off the trans fluid then drive it, then it starts to smoke because the fluid leaks out onto the exhaust and smokes all over the place. i cant figure out where it is leaking from. HELP. thanks

I can almost guarantee that it's coming from your tranny lines. Here is a pic of where they're at.

Also, here is a post that will help you to tighten them. There are a few ideas on there. But they are a pain in the azz to get to. You may have to remove your Y-pipe and you're more than likely going to have to remove your cross member that is located on the back of the tail shaft on the transmission.

I was just thinking again and it's possibe that you just overfilled it. Make sure that when you check your fluid you have the car running and in neutral. If you over filled it, you're going to have to drop the pan on it. If you think you over filled it and need to drop the pan email me rich_z28@hotmail.com and I'll tell you a good way to drop it so that you don't get tranny fluid EVERYwhere.
