Leaking seals on timing chain cover, how to fix and another ??

Well it's finally time to fix my oil leak that I caused when I did the cam swap Basically I got lazy and didn't lower the oil pan when I took the timing cover off, pulled the cover off at an angle and ended up ripping the oil pan gasket in the front(which I stopped from leaking) and messing up the seals in the front of my cover which is leaking kinda bad. Can I remove the cover and have a machine shop press in some new seals or should I buy a whole new cover?

One other thing- I can't really remember the layout of the timing chain and what not, but is it possible to remove the waterpump drive shaft? I'm using an electric waterpump and I really don't need it. I figure someone could just weld up the hole where the shaft goes through if it's possible to remove it.

Edit: I have a new oil pan gasket too, can I get enough clearance to thread the new gasket in place without jacking up the motor?

Just knock out the seals from the back side of the timing cover. Knock in the new seals. I don't think it's something you should have to pay somebody to do. I don't think a new cover comes with any seal (I could be wrong).

I remove wp ds and plugged the wp ds hole with a couple of large washers and a bolt/nut.

I'd suggest a freeze plug to plug the hole.

John you get rid of the water pump drive gear,as the others said I had my welded shut because when i was pressing out the bearing for the waterpump broke the water pump housing and the seal they give you to seal no longer would do the job.So went to local weld shop cost me twenty bucks for them to weld it shut with some aluminum sodder definetly want leak,Good luck with it

1995-1997opti seal 12552428
water pump seal 10217886
crank hub seal 10128316

Loctite ensures the nut won't back out and sealant ensure no leaks.
